Landscape architecture may be defined as the art of utilizing land, water, vegetation, buildings, etc to make good outdoor space. |
It can also be defined as the art of using architectural elements like walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, etc to create places with commodity, firmness and delight. Landscape architecture can also be defined as the analysis, planning, design and management of the natural and built environments. Landscape Architecture is wide spread in countries like United States, United Kingdom and Australia. There are many types of professional bodies aiming at landscape architecture like American Society of Landscape Architect and UK Landscape Architect, Australian Institute of Landscape Architects. Their main and common motto is to lead, to educate and participation of the public for building good environment. They champion well-designed and well-managed urban and rural land. These professional bodies promote the landscape architecture profession and aims to advance the practice through advocacy, education, communication and publicity. Professional landscape architecture can also be defines as the art and science of analysis, planning, design, management, preservation and rehabilitation of the land. The person involved in preparing the landscape architecture is called a landscape architect.
A landscape architect is a person involved in the planning, design and sometimes oversight of an exterior landscape or space. Examples of landscape architecture include residential design, security design, historic preservation and restoration, reclamation of land, conservation of land, landscape art and earth sculpture, interior landscape, gardens and arboreta, hospitality and resorts design, design of institutions or academic campuses, corporate and commercial campuses and more.
