Around 2BC, as part of their religious view, the Emperor of China was considered as the son of God and ruler of all under heavens.  It has been their concept that the Chinese God,  Shang-ti which means upper earth was in domination of the heaven.

On the other hand, the Emperor who was viewed as the son of God, govern the land under the heaven.  They believed that the occurrence in heaven was unequivocally influenced by the Emperor’s leadership and any event transpiring on Earth.  The Emperor has been edified to uphold harmony of both heaven and earth for they are intimately associated similar to a single living organism.  Thus, pandemonium to one conveys the same thing to others.

But according to the theory of Shih-shen in 4 BC, the fate of man was not simply governed by the Gods.  Since then, good or bad luck to Chinese culture was uncovered by virtue and by ensuing correctly the commands of the heavens.  Thus heaven was subjected as the ultimate God.  The Emperor was then regarded as the son of the heaven and also the chief of the state religion.

Even on the very early time, the science of Chinese astronomy has been discerned which is known as lifa. Lifa means calendrical more and if correctly translated it means astronomy.  There were around 102 different calendars engendered between 370 BC and 1851.  This is a result of the number of leashes in China and the verity that the calendar is viewed as a mirror of the political power for each rein.
