What Is A Nova In Terms Of Astronomy ?

A Nova is a star that undergoes a paroxysm.  In such time, its brightness soared up to ten magnitudes.

These phases are classified as pre-maximum, principal, diffuse enhanced, Orion, nebular and post nova. There are four main kinds of nova namely: classical nova, dwarf nova, recurrent nova and slow nova.

According to astronomers before, novae produced enormous amounts of dust.  However, this isn’t the case now.  Innovative studies have proved that the dusts are already there and once a nova exploded, it just dispersed it all away.  Thus, contrary to what most people say, a nova doesn’t create dusts, rather it destroys.

This discovery was formulated using a giant Keck Interferometer.  This kind of telescope can quash out the light coming from a star, as a result its surroundings are bared.
In this contemporary study, the Keck Interferometer had observed a nova in a star bordered by dusts which comprises a white dwarf and a red giant.  The outside layers of the system are elucidated by the red giant while it was gobbled up by the white dwarf.  Astronomers were not able to visualize any dust in the inner regions neighboring the star.  This could be the main reason why astronomers before had believed that once a nova explodes it create dusts.

Nowadays, investigators ruminate that as the star passes through the red giant’s wind while a pinwheel pattern has been created, the dust is created as well.  The thick areas in the pinwheel are amply cool to penetrate and then produced dust particles.
