When they changed to inert gases such as argon, krypton and xenon, which were having a greater atomic number, they found that the reaction had occurred and the compound’s nature had changed. This discovery was later confirmed by Bruce Bersten from Ohio State University.

Au55, which is a form of gold, was discovered by Hans Gerd-Boyen from the University of Ulm in Germany. This element, unlike normal gold cannot be corroded by ozone or atomic oxygen. It is also believed that Au55 can help as a catalyst in the production of CO2 from CO.
