When one uses the word nursing, one means the process of looking after and caring for another individual.

This involves taking care of various aspects of psychology, biology and chemistry. Hence, anyone who aspires to be a nurse or wants to do a course in nursing must have adequate knowledge of these three fields.

One of the sub branches of chemistry that is very important in the field of nursing is the organic chemistry. Organic chemistry includes studying the structure, mechanisms and properties of carbon containing compounds. It deals with learning the compositions and behavior of various frequently used commodities such as proteins, carbohydrates, synthetic and natural fibers, fats, vitamins, dugs and all kinds of plastics.

Almost all of the above mentioned substances prove to be helpful in producing many minerals that are needed while taking care of patients and while healing their wounds. It also helps if a nurse has proper knowledge of solvents, solutions and other chemicals; then he or she will be able to make different kinds of solutions that are needed for patients in a short span of time. It is also essential that along with the preparing the solutions, a nurse must also be aware of different properties, advantages and uses of various solutions and compounds.

A nurse must also keep in mind that there may be times when a single chemical alone is not sufficient for treating the patients. In such situations, the nurse must be having the knowledge of mixtures of different compounds and solutions.

Hence, it is very essential to include the subject of chemistry, especially organic chemistry, in the syllabus of course for nursing.

Chemistry-And-Collision-Theory      The hypothesis of the collision theory was introduced to the world by William Lewis and Mark Trautz in the year 1916. The hypothesis states why various chemical reactions occur and why the reaction rate is different for all the chemical reactions. It basically states not all the chemical reactions are the same and not all the particles of the element participate in the reaction. More..
