In addition to the relevance of what is taught to the actual computing industry, there must also be a scope to allow the student to actually learn for him or herself and become more productive professionals in the field. To achieve this there are three standards defined – the Technology Facilitation Initial Endorsement Standards, Technology Leadership Advanced Program Standards and Secondary Computer Science Education Initial Endorsement Program Standards.  

The Technology Facilitation Initial Endorsement Standards allow the educators to give students an education that gives them an opportunity to make themselves into technology builders. Important things that are learnt under this standard are using technology to support teaching along with disposition, skill and knowledge that allows them to be effective teachers of the application of technology.

Technology Leadership Advanced Program Standards, as its name suggests, gives students training to lead technology while studying to be able to lead technology as they go out as work in the field. This is done via instructional program development and facilities planning management among others. Secondary Computer Science Education Initial Endorsement Program Standards allow the Computer Science educators to teach effectively this branch of science in secondary schools. They strengthen the roots of the computer science knowledge of these educators so that they get strong in the knowledge and the teaching methods of the basic of the science like algorithm design, information organization and other such things that strengthen the students hold over the subject.
