Culture is the way of life that characterizes a group of people. There are thousands of cultures on Earth today and this has been due to the different characteristics and features of the earth’s surface at different places.

For example, native people living in proximity to coastal areas are culturally different from the natives living in the deserts or elsewhere. The cultural difference may be in terms of the cuisine, dress, their sources of livelihood, dance, medicine, economy, gestures etc. Their culture would be different since they need to adapt themselves to the environment they live in.

For example, the cuisine of native people living in coastal areas primarily involves fishes and other forms of marine life. Their main occupation would be fishing and that would be their source of livelihood. These native fishermen bank on their knowledge of the climate change and venture into the seas accordingly.

Moreover, it is obvious that the people living in the coastal areas will enjoy a high standard of living owing to trade and transportation by sea. Their dressing style and dressing materials would depend on the weather. Their houses are constructed using locally available construction materials that help the natives adapt to the local environment.

Although, in the current section,  we have dealt with the influence of geography of coastal areas on the culture of people inhabiting the place, the same will be the case with many other natives as well.
