Let us look into the investigation of a fruit, namely the orange.  It is a physical object which one can pick up.  Pertaining to its properties let us investigate the color.  The color cannot be picked up but the object with the color can be picked up.  Now for the metaphysical question – does the object exist because of its properties or are the properties subject to the object? 
Another metaphysical example is the existence of the orange.  It can change from a juicy succulent fruit to a rotten one.  The rotten orange is still an orange.  If one peels and eats the orange, it is still an orange.  It has only ceased to exist. This is the philosophy of identity and change.   

Another typical example is the theories of evolution according to the different religions.  Metaphysics does not contradict the theories of religion with the principles of science.  Here it mainly deals with the ideas of one religion with another religion. 

Now to deal with a “mind and body” issue.  The mind which is an invisible entity can decide what the physical body needs to do.  For example, it can tell the body to walk, jump and eat.  The profound truth of the mind and body being connected is metaphysical.  No other science can explain it. That is metaphysics.
