It is that branch of science that studies human society and the individuals who live in the society and their relationship to each other. It’s a discipline that deals with the socio-cultural aspects of human behavior. It deals with the functioning of humans in society and of nations and their interpersonal relationships.

This Science covers under its umbrella the following fields- Economics, History, Political Science, International Relations, International Development, Sociology, Social Policy, Human Geography, Demography, Anthropology, Archaeology, Communication Studies, Cultural Studies, Linguistics, Media Studies, Gerontology, Philology and Social Psychology. Sometimes Comparative law and comparative religion (the comparative study of the legal systems and religions of different nations and cultures) are also considered as parts of this science.

Social Science being a science is studied empirically, that is, by observation, experience, experiments and by comparative studies. Each aspect of human society is analyzed and compared to form an opinion.
