Social Science is that branch of science that studies human society and the individuals who live in the society and their relationship to each other. |
It deals with the functioning of humans in society and of nations and their interpersonal relationships.
The seven social sciences are:
Anthropology: It deals with the way people look. The way they communicate and the form of their education, recreation and nourishment.
Economics: It deals with technology. How goods are traded and distributed as per demand and supply. It also deals with money and the mode of its exchange in society.
Geography: It deals with physical and human features, the culture of people living in different places and their location. It also studies the environment people live in and their interactions.
History: It deals with the story of the way the world has been formed. What has happened over generations and how it has affected the present day society?
Political Science: It deals with the different forms of governments and their benefits in relationship to humans in the society. The laws needed to guide society. The power struggles of people who are in leadership. It also makes a comparative study of various forms of societies.
Religion: It deals in God, spirits and supernatural powers and the omnipresence of such powers. It asks the meaning of Life, the importance of Morality, Ethics, and Values in one’s life.
Sociology: It deals with the classification of humans in society. The different classes, tribes, families, castes and ethnicity people belong to in society. And the way a society is born by this diversity.
