Sociology is the branch of study that deals with the study of societies and how humans have developed over time in organized groups. |
Sociology uses several techniques, tools and methodology to study the human societies and thus, draw conclusions that can be generalized. This enables the sociologists to understand how societies around the world have developed and also know the different aspects of the society that have come to influence man and his development.
It is only through this social science that deals with human societies that we have come to know about the varied angles to human societies and the different elements are form an integral part of the society. For obtaining information and deducing different methods, the sociologists or the students of sociology draw heavily from other social sciences and a tremendous amount of data is also gathered through observation of the societies of today. The facts gathered need to be organized and classified so that they can be studied systematically and conclusions drawn.
The purpose of society lies in the use to which the information can be put to. Understanding ths human societies also brings forward the varied aspects of the society and its ills and problems. Sociology contributes heavily by suggesting measures to overcome the problems faced by society. This is possible only through a thorough understanding of the society and the factors that affect it. The knowledge gathered is used to give back to the society itself and thus, sociology is a social science that aims at the betterment of society and making the lives of human beings more beautiful and enriching.
